Each of our mini newspapers has an accompanying set of flipcharts with interactive lessons for your Activboard.
To access these:
1) Make sure you are registered on Promethean Planet (www.prometheanplanet.com)
2) Visit to the NZ area of Promethean Planet (www.prometheanplanet.com/nzteachers)
3) Select from the NiE menu
4) Download a flipchart before opening it in your Activsoftware

The Personal Experience Writing Competition 2010

Hamilton East Rotary and Fairfax NiE present...
THE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WRITING COMPETITION 2010
Open to students at the following levels:
Section 1 - Year 5-6 (i.Site)
Section 2 - Year 7-8 (Newslinks)
Eight finalists will be selected from each region at both levels to be judged and considered for the final prizes. Some stories will be published in the NiE mini newspapers along with a full list of winners.
Results and a selection of winning stories will be published in the NiE mini newspapers:
Year 5-6 in i.Site “Time For A Holiday” (October 19)
Year 7-8 in Newslinks “Pay It Forward” (October 26)

Prizes
Each section offers:
1st: $100
2nd: $75
3rd: $50
Highly commended: $25
Merit: $10 book voucher
Conditions of entry: Writing must be based on a personal experience and judges will be considering the deeper features and surface features as well as the overall impact of the writing. The writing must be original, suitable for general reading and NOT to have been previously published.
All entries MUST be accompanied by an entry form signed by the class teacher. Entries will not be returned. Teachers, please select only the best from your class (maximum of 8).
